Temperature-rise test performed on 2350 kVA dry-type power transformer manufactured by SIEMENS Guangzhou China was performed in March 2021 at LCOE HV Lab.

The test object was tested by using the thermal test bench designed by SGRE to simulate the real operation condition of the power transformer placed inside the nacelle of SG 2.1 wind turbine.

No-load test applying the rated voltage of 690 V and load-test with maximum operating current of the power transformer equal to 90.7 A (HV) / 1966 A (LV) according to IEC 60076-11 Std and technical specification of the applicant were performed on the unit to determine maximum temperature-rise of the transformer windings, internal parts of the transformer and ambient temperatures inside the nacelle.

Since June 2019 to July 2021, several dry-type power transformers from 2350 kVA to 5500 kVA rated power, manufactured by Chinese, Russian, Turkish, Spanish and German companies, have been tested at LCOE HV Lab to check the real behaviour of the transformers inside 2X, 3X and 4X SGRE nacelles.
